Sojourns carries art, accessories, baskets, home décor, kitchen items, linens & textiles, pottery, vases, children’s toys, books & stationary, as well as food items such as coffee, tea and chocolate. Items originate in more than 40 different countries including Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Guatemala, India, Peru, Niger, Uganda and Vietnam.

Most items are obtained through a network of fair trade importers*—including Ten Thousand Villages and A Greater Gift, which also operate retail stores. Some items are acquired from artisan groups with whom we have a direct relationship and other items are discovered on trips of exploration.

Sojourns owner, Melissa Kendrick, has traveled to 35 countries (as of July 2006) and continues to explore new countries to discover unique folk art items that are hard to obtain otherwise. 

We are always willing to search for specific items, so please feel free to request items which may not be currently available in the store.
